Paul KnightFounder & Chairman
Paul began his career in technology distribution in 1988 when he established the international sales division for NECX (now Converge- an Arrow Electronics Company). His focus was, and has always been, helping companies manage the challenges resulting from rapid changes in supply and demand for electronic products worldwide. Paul helped lead NECX through ten years of rapid growth ultimately taking responsibility for the company’s entire trading operation which reached over $400M in revenue. In 2002 Paul and his business partner began to formulate a plan intended to help large companies “repurpose” their inventories of excess and obsolete IT hardware by finding alternative uses in developing countries around the world. Material that may have otherwise ended up as electronic waste- was directed to different channels that needed computing technology at an affordable price. Over the years, Paul and his team have developed programs to assist some of the world’s largest technology companies like Hewlett Packard, Sony, and Apple to find alternative channels for their trailing edge technology and help reduce their carbon footprint. Paul is a 1985 graduate of the Isenberg School of Management at UMASS Amherst and holds a Certificate of Foreign Studies from Sophia University in Tokyo (1986).
Jerry QuillChief Executive Officer
Jerry was named CEO of CNE in June, 2017. Jerry leads CNE’s global business platform and is focused on generating profitable growth in all markets . Prior to his CEO role, Jerry was VP of Corporate Strategy and CNE’s Chief Financial Officer from 2011 to 2013. He was formerly a Managing Director of Business Development at GE Capital where he led teams in the completion of nearly $3 billion of investments. Jerry earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and an MBA from the Boston University School of Management.
Mike HammondVP of Trading, USA/EMEA
Mike leverages nearly two decades of experience as a senior trader and commodity manager in the electronic and computer parts distribution industry to drive CNE Direct’s supply acquisition and resale efforts in the Americas and across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to joining CNE Direct in 2009, Mike worked with Real World Electronics, NECX and Converge as a senior trader, business analyst and regional market manager. Mike studied electrical engineering at Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Bill HeVP of Trading, Asia
Bill oversees efforts to strengthen CNE Direct’s sales channels and supplier base in Asia, working in close cooperation with the VP of Sales in the U.S. and EMEA. Prior to joining CNE Direct, Bill was a director at Kind Information Science and Technology in Shanghai. Bill holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical and automotive engineering from Hunan University.
Nicole SimmonVP of Production & Development
Nicole quarterbacks the continuous improvement initiatives that make CNE Direct a world-class leader in asset recovery and redistribution. Since joining the company in 2008, Nicole has hired, trained, mentored and motivated a CNE team that consistently beats company objectives and expectations. Prior to joining CNE Direct, Nicole was the manager of administrative services at electronics wholesaler AgoraOne. She attended Salem State University with a concentration in business management.
Mike MayerVP of Sales & Marketing
Mike Mayer joined as CNE’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing globally in 2018. He is a recognized leader in the IT Industry and has spent the last 20 years building and expanding organizations at hyper growth companies. Prior to CNE, Mike served on the leadership teams of Dell, VMware, Peer1 Hosting,ASG and Akamai. At these companies, Mike led large sales organizations, Operations, Sales Effectiveness,Channel, Alliance, and Marketing Organizations and received numerous awards for his leadership. Mike holds a BA in Economics at Villanova University.
